This flooring does not require any materials to be constructed, but it needs to be placed on [[rough stone]] and takes a greater amount of time to be completed than any artificial flooring placed on top. Note that smooth floor takes less time than smooth wall counterpart, whereas the later takes {{Ticks|6500}}.

Rate is affected by the [[smoothing speed]] stat rather than [[construction speed]], however the two stats have identical values for all [[construction]] levels, [[global work speed]]s, and [[manipulation]] values ''unless'' the pawn has a [[sight]] value below 100%.
 
  
It is recommended to be used as standard flooring whenever available, as it more easily provides the [[Thoughts list#Pleasant environment|pleasant environment bonus]] to your colonists, not to mention it's free. Perfect flooring for a "Dwarfy" colony, built into the side of a mountain.
