Hi! A new platform for RimWorld has dropped and the wiki will need to adapt to help the now-expanded playerbase. Per the [https://rimworld.double11.com/faq FAQ]:

: Cool. Lemme know if you need any help with anything. Also you can sign posts with 4 ~'s like this <nowiki>~~~~</nowiki> <!--If you're looking here, you exclude the nowiki tags just to be clear-->- [[User:Harakoni|Harakoni (Wiki Moderator)]] ([[User talk:Harakoni|talk]]) 11:06, 16 January 2023 (UTC)

''RimWorld (PC) is an ever-evolving game and we made the decision to branch off from that version of RimWorld, locking off content whilst we polish, improve and develop our own version. This means that whilst we are slightly out of sync with RimWorld (PC), we were able to focus on bug fixing, performance optimisations and fine tuning our experience for console players.''

This implies that we're going to have some disparities between the PC and Console versions going forward. I'm hoping to get some feedback and ideas on how we should implement these. Assuming they remain relatively close in content, we could simply note the differences in the body, however some large disparities may require entirely new pages. Please let me know if you have any input on how these should be handled, especially if you have experience with other wikis handling the same issue.

Thinking about swapping the currently largely unused [[Property: Maintenance Reason]] with unique ones for each type (e.g. Stub Reason, Rewrite Reason etc) and then calling them in the lists to give ideas on what is needed. Thoughts? [[User:Harakoni|Harakoni (Wiki Moderator)]] ([[User talk:Harakoni|talk]]) 11:06, 6 May 2023 (UTC)

We will also need player experience with the console edition. Our existing editor-base, myself included, will likely only have experience with the PC version so we'll need editors that use the console edition, new or old, are very much encouraged to contribute in areas where the two differ. Even something as little as noting a difference on a talk page, or putting it in #wiki-suggestions in the [[File:Discord.png|16px|link=https://discordapp.com/invite/UTaMDWc|Discord]] [https://discordapp.com/invite/UTaMDWc Unofficial RimWorld Discord] will be a huge help.

We'll also need some minor things, such as a unique identifier for console content in a similar vein to {{RimworldIcon}}/{{RoyaltyIcon}}/{{IdeologyIcon}} to distinguish the PC and Console versions in the text of pages as well as banners like [[Template:Royalty]] and [[Template:Ideology]] to distinguish entire new pages. However, there isn't any branding unique to the console edition beyond the full banner. Perhaps something similar to the Fallout wiki's [https://fallout.fandom.com/wiki/Fallout_4_bugs#Perk_bugs method of denoting platform] would be good, or we might seek permission to use Double Eleven's logo. Again, feedback on this, or on any other minor issues you think might arise would also be great.

As always, I'm available on the discords or via my talk page. Feel free to hit me up with any issues.

Finally, welcome to the Rimworld to any new console players, whether you're a reader or an editor. Try not to get turned into a hat!
