Power conduit
A power conduit distributes power between power generators and appliances up to six squares away. If your power grid contains batteries with stored charge, it is possible for a power conduit to short circuit, automatically destroying the conduit and discharging the entire stored power of the grid in an explosion proportional to the amount of charge; this is a random event which cannot be prevented if you wish to use batteries, though the damage can be mitigated by building walls over your power conduits.
