Not that I created the infoboxes and templates used to display items, but I'm fairly familiar with this wiki's use of them by now. I'm not sure what you know about properties and queries but I can try to help if you need. I watch regularly for any changes, so if you post a question or concern in a page's discussion thread I'll be sure to see it and help that way too.

I like your idea about a page that sets out guidelines for a standard style and format. Since items use templates with infoboxes they already have a standard appearance. However individual plant pages have as many as three templates in use, none of which are working. It seems someone decided to use a new template then abandoned it. I actually tried to fix it, but couldn't pinpoint the problem. About the page, I imagine that such a page would, among other things, list out each type of item and what template(s) it uses. However, writing all that up will certainly be a chore.
