Broken Tables and Moving Content?
As you may have noticed I started cleaning up the plant categories. I need a bit of help regarding the categories and their definitions. Here are some definitions as I would understand them:
+
Ey Harakoni, a lot of the contents of these tables is broken however since these seem to be referenced values I'm not quite sure how to fix it. Do I add these values to the specific plants somewhere?

First of all the plants can be split into:
+
Also wouldn't it make more sense to move the tables to their specific sections? eg. Domestic plants table to the domestic plants section?
* Domesticated plants: All plants that can be planted by the player.

* Wild plants: All plants that can't be planted by the player.

Secondly plants can be split according to their harvest result:
+
:Yeah so you could potentially go set those properties on the respective pages, however there are a ton of problems. Property: Product doesn't exist - its Property: Harvest Product, nutrition per day doesn't make sense for half the pages, and some of the other stats have to be calculated and so can't be done without a templated #ask (see Weapons' ranged table for an example of that - the ask calls Template:Weapon/Row/Ranged to format the result). Tbph rather than just a fix of the existing tables, a re-examining of what should be in the tables in the first place is needed instead. The whole page probably needs an overhaul, as do most of the invidual plant pages as well. P.S. * Resource plants: All plants that produce any kind of resources except food and wood.
+
:Forgot to say, you can look at what properties the page you're looking at has by selecting the "Browse properties" link in the sidebar, under "Tools", at the bottom. Jic you didn't know. Harakoni (talk) 10:03, 16 May 2021 (UTC)
* Food plants (new category): Everything that can be harvested for some kind of food.

* Tree: Everything that produces wood.

Thirdly there are also decorative plants where the definition is particulary difficult:

* All plants that can be planted by the player and cannot be harvested

* All plants that are particulary beautiful

There is a lot of overlap in these definitions. This are the special cases (I know of) that need to be considered:

* Cocoa trees are called trees and can like other trees only be planted every other tile but they can't be chopped for wood.

* Bonsai trees are called trees and can be chopped for wood but otherwise don't behave like trees and are meant as a decorative plant.

* Some wild plants can be harvested.

Any thoughts on this? --Ickputzdirwech (talk) 11:22, 25 March 2022 (UTC)

: i am about 80% sure that the domesticated, decorative, wild, and tree categories are actually from the game. I vaguely remember dandelions finding out that dandelions are actually miscategorized. i caht look at the game files to check atm and might not be able to do so for the next couple of days. ultimately only reader centric categories need to match the game, so additional sorting categories not linked to the types can be whatever you need. i trust you to make good choices on that regard Harakoni (Wiki Moderator) (talk) 23:34, 25 March 2022 (UTC)>

:: My trouble is I looked in that game files and the only thing that's like categories is the "purpose" property (Food, Beauty, Misc). Couldn't find anything like categories in game either. The thing about dandelions is that there are no wild and domestic variants of them. So one could argue that they belong in the "wild" category, not "beauty". Or at least both. --Ickputzdirwech (talk) 09:25, 28 March 2022 (UTC)

:: Also I would say that Anima trees are "wild" plants as well. I think the best way forward is to consequently assign the categories and accept that there will be quite a bit of overlap. --Ickputzdirwech (talk) 09:31, 28 March 2022 (UTC)

:: I added my findings and definitions. It's still subject to change. Another special case is the Burned stump which can't be planted by the player, but is it really a "wild" plant? Also "crop" is a nice word, maybe we should use it instead of plants e.g. Food crop? But wouldn't this exclude things like berry bushes? Would that be a bad thing? Lots of questions I need to think about. --Ickputzdirwech (talk) 10:42, 28 March 2022 (UTC)

Plants per Pawn
I added a quick reference for some common scenarios, and it's been marked for recoding which I could not agree more with. I actually started by trying to add a calculated table similar to those under the Types of Plants heading. Unfortunately, this requires adding new properties which I and likely any other non-logged-in user do not have permission to do. It would be helpful for a user with permissions to do that even if they don't have time to fully update the page. --104.246.157.29 02:21, 12 January 2024 (UTC)

: Thanks for your contribution! It's very much appreciated. I had a stab at recoding it. While I was at it, I added numbers for nutrient paste and vegetarian fine meals as well. I figured besides simple and fine meals this might be the most useful ones. It got quite big and I might turn it into a template later but what left me puzzled was that I got completely different numbers than you. You can see my calculations in the source text since it's done automatically. Any ideas where the difference comes from? --Ickputzdirwech (talk) 16:20, 12 January 2024 (UTC)

real plant growth time
Pretty sure the real grow days numbers all over the wiki and in the tables are incorrect, because Growth Remaining=0,95 instead of 1 which seems to have been used, since "growth starts at 5%, means that all plants only need to grow 95% from the moment they are sown".

Actual Growth Time = (Growth Remaining × 60,000 Ticks/Day × growDays) ÷ (Growing Ticks/Day × GRF(F) × GRF(T) × GRF(L)) --Selectivedit (talk) 23:10, 14 May 2023 (UTC)
