Toxbomb launcher

A self-loading low-pressure canister launcher loaded with tox bombs. The toxbomb launcher is a ranged weapon added by the Biotech DLC

Acquisition

Toxbomb launchers can be crafted at a Machining table once the Tox gas research project has been completed. They require Steel 75 Steel, Component 4 Components, 30,000 ticks (8.33 mins) of work, and a Crafting skill of 4.

Summary

AOE of a single toxbomb shot. Shots land within the yellow area. Blue area is the expected gas explosion outside. Actual gas distribution can vary, especially in cramped areas.

Creates tox gas. Quality seems to have little or no impact to the amount gas created.

Analysis

Gas created when tox weapons are fired constantly outside.
Left: Tox grenades. Right: Toxbomb launcher (normal)

Compared to tox grenades, toxbomb launchers deploy tox gas faster, as the launcher has higher shot velocity and detonates instantly on impact. They also have greater range. However, tox grenades create more gas over time, due to its faster overall firerate. This makes the launcher relatively better as a in-field support weapon, and grenades for your gas-related kill tunnels.
