Hey hey! Moved away from DF (sadly, but simply didn't have a box that could support that much lag - not sure anyone but the Pentagon does!), but just found Rimworld (aka DF-lite!) Just starting my first crash-landing, feeling my way slowly. Are there any key diffs in policies/philosophies between the DF Wiki and this one? None that come to mind, though I was more a user of the DF wiki than an editor. Absolutely be bold, with the one possible exception of templates where its "be bold but check after edits to make sure it didn't break".
There are guidelines and a rough format we follow, but its open to change and following the pattern doesn't work for every page. Make the edits you think work/are needed, and worst comes to worst we can fix issues after. Content > Prettiness.
