Stone walls are fire proof and highly resistant damage. They may be constructed from the Structure menu after Stonecutting has been researched. Stone walls are very effective when used as fortifications, and acting as support pillars for oversized rooms that would collapse in the middle otherwise.
Pre-existing stone walls may be found on the map, though these can not be deconstructed or repaired like the walls you build, until you claim them.
