A neolithic weapon, usually used to stab your colonists.

Takes 90 materials to make.

Gameplay Overview

The second best sharp weapon in the game, the Spear has a lower material cost and work time requirement than the Longsword, along with a lower marker value and slightly lower damage output. This makes the Spear a very solid weapon to include in your arsenal earlier game when you don't have as much time or materials to spare, but Longswords have that extra advantage. Spears can typically be seen among tribes that besiege your colony. As a smithy-only weapon, the Spear can be made from all of the standard materials, but not out of stone blocks or Jade. The following table compares the damage output potential for all available materials for this weapon...

Wood Steel Plasteel Silver Gold Uranium
Damage 5 15 18 8 5 17
Cooldown 2.07s 2.3s 1.84s 2.3s 2.53s 3.11s

DPS figures that are bold are those that are viable as they are greater than the base unarmed DPS (3.279), meaning those that aren't bold should generally be avoided as weapons.
