A ship chunk is a 2x2 sized piece of destroyed ship. It can be disassembled for some metal and components.

They can spawn on the beginning of the game (in the Crashlanded scenario) or they can fall in a mini event.

They are an excellent source of components, because they drop 8-9 of them on disassembly, which is a pretty large amount. However they can be quite rare so don't count on them on reliably delivering the components you need.

Like other chunks, they can serve as a source of cover.
