This floor type is automatically created on the map, usually of the same variation as nearby natural stone walls. It comes in the same five variations as all stone products: sandstone, limestone, marble, granite, and slate. Rough stone floor can be smoothed by a colonist with the Smoothing order to form Smooth Stone floor, which is faster and more beautiful.

Trivia

Before an update, rough stone, like Dirt, could not get dirty from walking generated filth, only from things such as blood and vomit. This coupled with its lower cleanliness penalty than dirt made it ideal for keeping kitchens and surgeries clean without needing to dedicate pawn time. However this was patched out in version ?.
