Placed on soil, a growing area designates an area where colonists with the Growing skill will plant potato seeds. If colonists have no other tasks with a higher priority, they will automatically begin planting. Growzing zones are only allowed in soil, not sand. Even if both terrain types contain grass. The stronger the grass the higher the crop growth rate.
