Gear includes items that are worn, equipped, or carried. These include:

From the gear tab, you can drop items or use food. Dropping equipped items (weapons, utility, apparel) is not an instant process. Equipping apparel also has a delay. Multiple drops can be queued while holding ⇧ Shift and clicking.
