An armchair is a type of furniture which your colonists can sit on. Armchairs can be placed at tables to allow your colonists to eat there; in front of televisions to let them watch; or in front of production benches to provide comfort as they work, improving their mood and allowing them to work longer before needing a break.

Comparison

Armchairs are more comfortable than stools or dining chairs, but can only be made from textiles. This makes armchairs difficult to acquire early on, but very affordable once your colony has established itself. The specific material used has no impact on the finished product beyond its value when sold. As armchairs are not the best goods to trade, it's best to make them from cheap, low-cost, comfort based materials for colonist use and to improve a rooms comfort rating.
