Known as the poor man's grenade, molotov cocktails set a 3x3 plus shaped zone on fire once it lands. Unfortunately, it is also super hard to hit the wanted target.


Removing Grass

Molotov's can be used as a fast and effective way to remove grass that can lower the chance to hit a raider, but be careful not to burn down your own base while doing so, (cut away the grass nearest to your base, or have a floor that cant burn near your base, eg. smooth stone).


  • Select a colonist and equip him/her with Molotov's
  • Make the colonist a soldier
  • By using the "pistol button" you can select where the colonist will attack.


Removing Dead Bodies

Dead bodies gives colonists unhappy thoughts, so haul them away to a dumping zone (preferably designated to only receive bodies, and under a roof) and toss a Molotov at them, in the same way as above, and watch your problems perish in a puff of smoke (quite a large smoke puff, but a puff none the less).
