A Multi-analyzer is used to further improve research by 10%. As with the tool cabinet, it must be placed close enough to a parent research bench to link to it when the center of the research bench is in line of sight; then the parent research bench researches faster, and (as of Alpha 13) can be used to research the most advanced research projects.
There are several factors that affect the research speed of the bench itself:
- Whether you are in a room or not. Outdoors research benches are only 75% as effective as indoors.
- The cleanliness of the room. A very dirty room is only 75% as effective as clean, whereas sterile tile gives an approximate 9% bonus.
- The type of research bench. Simple reseearch bench is only 60% as effective as Hi-Tech.
- Whether you have a connected Multi-Analyzer or not. You can have only 1 connected, but it can connect to multiple nearby benches, and gives a 10% bonus.
